Exhaust welding 304 Stainless to mild steel - MIG

Apr 18, 2017Hey guys, I'm looking for some tips/suggested setup to weld exhaust pipe with dissimilar metals. The welds don't need to look pretty, just need them strong enough to hold an exhaust system together (hopefully leak free). I'm hoping to stick a 304 stainless section to the rest of my mild steel exhaust system. Wall thickness of the stainless is ~1mm, I don't have the mild steel section apart yet MIG WeldingThe Basics for Mild SteelHow to Weld - MIG Welding 11 Steps (with Pictures MIG WeldingThe Basics for Mild SteelMIG welding uses an arc of electricity to create a short circuit between a continuously fed anode (+ the wire-fed welding gun) and a cathode (- the metal being welded).
